All Over for 2007 24 September 2007 ![]() At the prizegiving The Bivouac Outdoor Night Nav certainly saw some tight competition this year, and it was definitely a case of girls taking on and just about beating the boys Joe Jagusch, a perennial contender in the foot event, edged out Greg Campbell by just over 100 points for the series title, 2 consecutive victories for Jagusch secured it after the first event was taken by Campbell. However not far behind and in an outstanding fourth overall was leading women Jocelyn Williams, showing great consistency and navigational prowess to lead home more well known competitors. The MTBO event was even closer with young adventurer Rupert Machlachlan claiming victory, but rising adventure racing star Sia Svendson was not too far back in 3rd. The last night of the event was a great occasion with a big turn out and a really great vibe, as always lots of lights in the forest and a huge convergence of sweaty and stoked people after the hour was up. Thanks must go to Bivouac Outdoor, Thule and the Lolly Shop great sponsors contributing a lot to the event. The Series was fundraising for the Bivouac Outdoor Southerly Storm orienteering team who will be competing in the National Orienteering Super Series starting in February in Taupo. Thanks for your support. Same time, same place ....next year!!!! |
