New Zealand Sprint Championship - Roxburgh Tailings (World Ranking Event)

Terrain: Open forest, mainly flat with some gold tailings

Forest sprint using the Roxburgh tailings, which are currently forested. The area is flattish with a few small hills and a reasonable amount of subtle contour that you would expect with gold tailings. The forest is mostly open, fast running with some slower rocky underfoot areas.

New Zealand Middle Distance Championship Event - Bannockburn Sluicing (A grade event)

Terrain: Intricate gold sluicing, open ground

Complex area of gold sluicing and tailings. A lot of history right at your feet, but don't stop to admire it; this is Nationals!

Reasonably steep and very open. Some scattered vegetation.

New Zealand Long Distance Championship Event - Earnscleugh station (A grade event)

A rocky map, a little like Mt Ross, but with a lot more rocks.

Nearest accommodation for Wednesday and Thursday is Tekapo. Tekapo has a great range of restaurants, lodgings and luxurious hot pools! Scenic flights are available. University of Canterbury Mt John Observatory is also nearby.

Nearest accommodation for Saturday is provided by Flock Hill Station. They offer motel, cottage and backpacker options. Cave Stream (a walk through cave) and Castle Hill climbing rocks are also nearby.

This is a clinic for planners aspiring to move on to controlling and controllers who want to move up to A or B grade certification. The clinic will be delivered by Graham Teahan (NZOF Technical Director) in three parts:
