The inaugural 2007/08 Kiwi Summer consisted of the Crash Course, Adventure Taupo and Adventure Rotorua. The course and races took people through a huge variety of Central North Island landscapes, through areas unexplored in Adventure Racing before. Journeys undertaken with friends on bike, on foot and by kayak
The events were well recieved, and will be followed by more in due course as opportunities arise!
Crash Course
24th/25th November - Rotorua
Optional adventurous activities on the Saturday, followed by an evening presentation on adventure racing theory and experiences. Sunday consists of an intense scenario based exercise on foot and bike. For more information check out the Crash Course flyer

Adventure Taupo
15th/16th December - Taupo
10 hours racing on Saturday finishing at overnight campsite, 2 hour night stage followed by sleep and 5 more hours of racing on Sunday to the finish! A more traditional adventure race featuring beautiful trekking, sea kayaking, coasteering and snorkelling on Lake Taupo

Experience Whirinaki
26th/27th/28th January (Anniversary Weekend) - Rotorua
new format: Skills day on Saturday featuring navigation training/assessment at all levels, and (subject to logisitcs) ropes training. Followed by race on Sunday, 18 hours (expert) 0000 - 1800, 12 hours (intermediate) 0500 - 1700, 6 hours (beginner) 1000 - 1600. All races will use tubing as the water activity. The long weekend gives a day spare to recover or engage in further adventurous activities!
