Jamie Stewart Role: Dreamer Profile: Jamie is a keen adventure racer and orienteer. He has represented NZ in orienteering and placed 3rd at the 2005 Adventure Racing World Champs with Team Go-Lite Timberland. He is also the founder of Christchurch's Taylor's Mistake Rogaine Series. Jamie just loves seeing people get out there in the outdoors having a blast, and reckons the Kiwi Summer should be sweet for that. |
Brent Edwards Role: Figure head Profile: Brent is the navigator of Team Orion Health Care, and therefore a current World Champion Adventure Racing (defending his titles as this is written). He has previously competed at the XPD, Primal Quest and Explore Sweden Expedition Adventure Races as well as every domestic adventure race there is. Brent is looking forward to planning a "fun course" for the Kiwi Summer and showing people just how choice adventure racing can be. |
Simon Addison Role: Yes you are coming Simon Profile: Simon is an event manager extraordinaire all the way from Putaruru. Simon organises the annual Waitangi Orienteering Event known for introducing innovative new concepts to the sport. Simon is our webmaster and photographer, and is looking forward to capturing the beauty and the essence of the Kiwi Summer Adventure races. |
Penny Kane Role: Concept auditer Profile: We decided we needed someone caring on the Event Team, and caring along with other adjectives like lovely and adventurous pretty much sums Penny up. Penny is also an expert navigator and is passionate about youth development, and is looking forward to seeing lots of people get out there during the Kiwi Summer. |
Darren Ashmore Role: Consultant Profile: Darren is recognised as one of New Zealand's best ever orienteers, having won more national championships than anyone else. He is an outdoors professional employed by the Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre in Turangi for the last five years, where he has been a driving force behind the Hillary Challenge and Get2Go adventure events. Darren sees the Kiwi Summer as completing the needed progression from introductory races to 24hr missions. |
Rob Garden Role: Talking the talk Profile: Rob is an avid mountain biker, orienteer and adventure racer. He competed in his first expedition race at the XPD 2006. Rob was one of the founders of Aucklands 1020 adventure race and sees the Kiwi Summer as a great way of establishing summer adventure racing on the calendar. |
