MADeventz organiser Jamie Stewart would like to invite all keen rogainers and outdoors people to enter the inaugural Boohai: Adventure Rogaine Weekend.
The weekend which will consist of two rogaines, 8 hours and 5 hours will take place in the beautiful open pine plantations of the East Coast north of Gisborne. Competitors will also have to navigate through some lovely native bush.
The local foresters have been very obliging to the point of providing detailed 1:15,000 maps of the area, which will be combined with topographical data to produce 1:25,000 maps for the competition.
The Boohai will be suitable for outdoors people of all abilities, as the rogaine format leaves teams free to choose their own course appropriate to their ability. The terrain while open is very steep in places, although the rogaines will be designed to enable teams to minimise this climb.
A highlight of the weekend will be the recommended overnight campsite for Saturday, the beautiful Anaura Bay, which may quite possibly be very close to the action on day 2.

Entries have opened for the inaugural Boohai: Adventure Rogaine Weekend. The Boohai which will move around the North Island in years to come will debut in the open forests of the East Coast.
