Middle Distance Event Area - New Map

The Middle Distance event area has not been used before for orienteering and is a new map drawn to IOF Map standard. The area is embargoed.

Some quotes about the new mapped area:

  • The new map is gully/spur with enough clean forest for one middle race.
  • The new map will be a good challenge, and unknown terrain.
  • The farmland will be kept for the (North Island) Secondary School Champs two weeks later, which was the original plan for the map, and we are certainly lucky we have such a good backup.
